Service Description
Class Objective: The third in the Tucker Trimmer series of rulers, this version of our Tucker Trimmer is used for any block or unit that is larger than a 6" finished. It has all of the sizes of the Tucker Trimmer I plus thirteen additional size options up to and including trimming blocks to 13" (that will finish to 12 1/2" when sewn). We will review the basics of the Tucker Trimmer I, then dive into the Cyclone Block. This is such a fun block and once you see how it's made you will be amazed at how easy it is. This is super fun and I highly recommend the technique sheet (available at Stitched in Schertz) so you can create this block anywhere from 4" to 12" finished. You can also chain piece this block making it a quick sew. In August, we will use this same Trimmer to create an accurate Log Cabin block. Supply List: Tucker Trimmer III with Invisagrip or non-slide grips on back. Cyclone Technique Sheet Deb Tuckers "Quilter's Magic Wand" 3 coordinating 1/4 yards (must be the full 44" width of fabric, fat quarters will not work) A stiletto with a sharp point (Stitched in Schertz recommends the ByAnnie stiletto) Coordinating thread Patchwork Pins Machine in good working order, full bobbin, a new size 12 needle (I prefer microtex or topstitch) Rotary cutter and mat (rotating mat if you have one) Small portable iron and ironing pad Mechanical Pencil, micro pen or Frixion- NEEDS to be fine point, .05 or .005 Optional tools I utilize: Seam Guide Ruler Small sharp scissors (I prefer Karen K Buckley- less likely to ravel) Acorn Starch or your choice of a starch product
